Summer just wouldn't be the same without a fun family reunion or two!
We were able to have a get together with my family at my grandma's house and see some family that we haven't seen for awhile. They traveled from Indiana and Nevada to come see everyone. I was so happy to see my cousin and her kids. Her little boy Noah and Jaiden are just a month apart and were so cute together! I just wished she lived closer so we could get together more often!

The kids had a great time playing with tons of cousins they don't even remember and climbing in grandma's apricot tree!
Now even though the cold and flu season is far behind us that doesn't seem to stop my kids from getting sick all summer long! On the 24th in the midst of a fun BBQ with the

neighbors I found myself running Ammon to the doctor. He had complained of a headache all day and had a rising fever. Since this was the third time Ammon had complained of these symptoms this year I had no doubt that he had strep throat. Since we had a family reunion at Lava Hot Springs the next day, I was not going to take any chances. Sure enough it was strep throat, making this the third time in six months that Ammon has had it. CRAZY! So we got the anti-biotic and took off for Idaho in the morning.

Luckily the strep throat did not hit full force for a couple of days and even though he tired easily and got out of the pool often (as you can see in the picture below) he still managed to have some fun. The poor guy was put on a very slow moving anti-biotic as he is allergic to penicillin and was very sick for the whole next week. I'm just so glad he saved the throwing up for after the family reunion!!!

Lava Hot Springs was a blast! The kids played with more cousins at the campground and then we took off for the real fun at the pool. The kids are getting to be pretty good swimmers since they were almost done with their second set of swimming lessons. So they just dove in, they loved the little slides and the big slides. Even Jaiden seemed to have less fear and splashed around like a little fish. Of course the one who really had the most fun was the Big P Dawg!

Preston hooked up with his cousin and they were just like little kids again! They went down all the slides and then started diving off the platforms. Preston went off the bottom platform once, the middle platform twice, and the top platform 4 times! The only problem was that he managed to leave behind his sun glasses and a contact lens at the bottom of the pool!

Even though the storm clouds were brewing and he only had one eye at full sight, he just kept going! So mommy K had to step in and reminded him that we still had to drive 2 1/2 hours home. Luckily providence was upon us and we managed to get safely home around 2:00 in the morning despite Preston being exhausted and driving with only one contact! Ah what fun adventures
summer brings us!!!
