Trusting The Lord

Well another crazy thing happened this summer, we found out we were expecting baby #5! Now this wasn't a big surprise or anything, but it happened so fast we didn't believe it was real for awhile. I always thought 4 kids would be the perfect number, two boys and two girls. But when we found out Jaiden was a boy I couldn't help feeling like there was still a girl that needed to come to our family. Preston felt the same way and we knew then that our family was not complete. Even so, when I started feeling the prompting to go off birth control in the spring, I was not ready. It has been such a crazy year for us with Preston being unemployed and trying to get his job situation figured out, that I just didn't think I could take on anything else until I knew we were more secure. So I kept telling myself we would wait until the fall after he would most likely get a teaching job. Something didn't feel right though and I couldn't deny the promptings I was feeling. I talked to Preston and we decided to pray about it. That night I had a dream and I saw a little girl about 2 years old playing with my kids in a house with big rooms. I asked what she was doing there and she just smiled at me. Then I looked at her again and said, "You have my hair are you supposed to be part of our family?" Then she faded away but the feeling lingered, I knew it was time.... I was still in denial and thought that we might be able to put it off a couple more months, but BOOM within a month we were pregnant! It has been difficult to trust the Lord and believe that he has a plan that is better than ours. I have been very sick which has been hard on everyone and limited our summer activities. Sure enough though, by the end of the summer Preston had the teaching job he wanted and things are at least a little more secure now. I know that Heavenly Father loves us and he gives us what we need, so apparently what we need right now is another blessing sent straight from Heaven!

That is such an amazing story. I know it's hard to have complete trust sometimes but it's great to know he won't lead us astray either. Congrats on the new little one. Everything will continue to work out. :)
