Being Thankful

Thanksgiving came at a rough time for us this year, but that just means it was even more important to count our blessings! Just a couple weeks before Thanksgiving Preston was fired from his job without notice and without good cause. It was the shock of a lifetime as we thought he was finally on the career path that he had been searching for! But we are so grateful to have such wonderful family who love and support us. We are also grateful to know that we have a loving Heavenly Father and that everything happens for a reason. Even if we don't know what that reason is yet!
So we packed up and went to Idaho to enjoy a fun filled Thanksgiving weekend with Preston's family. The kids had a blast and finally got to meet their new doggy-cousin KT-Moto!

Parker and KT were a match made in heaven, they could not stop playing with each other! It was so cute, Parker even cried when he had to leave her!

It snowed like it was the middle of January, which made for a hairy drive up and back, but gave the kids lots of fun white stuff to play in!

Of course Preston had to get in on the fun! He had a great time riding his parents 4-wheeler around the neighborhood, he even taught Parker how to ride! It was nice to take a break after an emotional couple of weeks. We truly are grateful for our many blessings, despite the hard times we've been through. =)

I am so sorry to hear about Preston and his job. That is so hard and the holidays tend to make it a little harder. I love reading what you write. You always are looking on the bright side and you have such faith in our Heavenly Father. Love you Katherine!! you are in my prayers.
